As my second week on the island of Koh Chang is coming to a close, I can honestly say that I’m not ready to leave. I don’t want to go to work, I don’t want to leave my little bubble here- I’m having far too much fun. I’m not ready to go back to a reality where you can’t sunbathe on the beach every evening, sing to the Spice Girls all day, play games created for 5 year olds and always have somebody to have fun with. I’m going to miss my not-so Irish roomie and his claaaasssic ways.
I have just completed my first ever TEFL assignment and scored an exemplary so I am finally feeling a little more prepared for teaching, although the thought that in a few short weeks I will have my own class is absolutely crazy. If anyone is thinking about completing a TEFL course, I would definitely recommend this one (Paid Internships Thailand), it’s really organised, the trainers are amazing, the classes are interesting and they actually really help you as you prepare to become a TEFL teacher; there is no way I’d be able to do this without them.
Thinking about doing something similar? Great idea. Well, to do the Paid internships Thailand course you must have completed a degree and English must be your first language. Other than that, pretty much anything goes- there is such a vast range of personalities and people on my course, which makes things really fun and interesting. Fill out an application form and create a Youtube video on why you want to become a TEFL teacher in Thailand. This is a great way to make money on the road and will allow you to save up money to travel without ever going home again- sounds like a dream come true to me! Plus you will literally have the time of your life!
